Actually I suggest you try and get hold of the current issue of Carn magazine and the previous one, which discuss whether or not Scotland is a colony.

Did anyone see "Doors Open", which was set in Edinburgh? It was basically a Stephen Fry ITV vehicle, but all the educated/middle class characters were English (with the exception of Dougie Henshall's character), and the "schemies" all had Scottish (Glaswegian!) accents... bar a couple of Geordie gangsters.

30 seconds was enough for me. If Ian Rankin had any integrity (he wrote the noivel) he would have insisted on some control over the screening.

It was incredibly badly paced. Which doesn't work for a thriller. I watched Restless, which is a partly-English set spy drama by William Boyd (who is Scottish, sort of) over the last couple of days... much better in a hundred ways.

Aye, all the "educated" folk were English. Now I know that English people are overrepresented in our art schools/galleries etc but not everyone in them is English!

I don't mind Stephen Fry in small quantities, but it he seems to be all over the bloody place doing everything. Like Miranda Hart. That tax dodger Jimmy Carr. That creepy David Mitchell and his fiance Victoria Coren. Urgh, they deserve each other...
