Not too sure were start here as cant force people to sign the petition
although
as said before find it hard that, This has nothing to do with Politics one
bit incase some people thing this is a political thing we are trying to stir
up and
score points, THIS is a Wallace thing nothing else, its why we have the
historians on board that we have as they would see straight throught this
Wallace is my Hero as he was for the late David R Ross who stated all this and
we are continuing the fight alone.
now as david is no longer here, I wish he was here at times as he was better at
this stuff than me, So come on can we please have one more big massive push, it
will not take too much of your time to fill in the petition 2 min at a push if
that, Lets back up the historians who are doing so much work behind the scenes
that we have all our facts and history part right for our fight to get this
back, Wallace was for the people, The monument was done by the ordinary people
and the Walk for Wallace was done by the ordinary people so come on lets keep
that going and get the signature done and out and about on every message board that you know and get us up to at least 2500 signatures, I wanted
5000 but struggling with that I think

The petition for the return of the Wallace 'Safe Conduct' letter is now heading into its final week before the closing date. I'm sure everyone has came across this already on other sites and various Facebook pages, but please, if you haven't already signed please do so now, and if you have signed, then pass it onto to any of your family and friends that may help this cause

The petition has been extended to the 23rd Aug to enable the historians to have a water tight case

Also there will be an article in the Sunday Express this Sunday about the letter

Just to keep you all in the loop, The petition will be held off till the meetings with the historians finish in March, 1 meeting has already taken place and when I get the minutes through from that will let you all know , still plenty work going on behind the scenes so dont think we just sitting back waiting for the meetings by the way

Aye, there are a few things going on. It has to be "no comment" at present for a variety of reasons, but it's still moving forward.

The minute to the Wallace letter can be found here

http://www.nas.gov.uk/about/100607.asp

As you can see they have confirmed what we have been saying for the last 6 years that the letter is indeed FRENCH and not and English copy

Its looking blxxdy good

Re the last bit on the document that says they will take 1 to 2 years the explanation is below

the group's intention on writing an article is simply to have something formally published in a suitable academic journal as a result of the work that has been done. That is quite separate from, and will be much longer than, a report that would be submitted to the appropriate ministers after the meeting next spring. The formal article will take some time to draft as well as pass through peer review, and is simply a by-product of the group's deliberations. I am sorry for any confusion that has been caused but there will be a report to ministers next year as you thought.

Release is about to be issued on the Wallace letter confirming it will come back on an initial long term loan of 2 years from 2012 to 2014 and the Minister is negotiating to have it on permanent loan beyond 2014.
