Curious that this 50s film about John Paul Jones never gets shown on British TV... maybe it's the portrayal of English troops in Scotland, a Scotsman beating the Royal Navy in the American war of Independence & off the English coast, and meeting the leaders of Europe

If you forgive this film its slightly twee portrayals of Scottish life, and its 1950s features... then you have a quite enjoyable epic naval film complete with battles etc.

John Paul Jones - if you don't know already - was the Scottish founder of the US navy.
