Hi All,

According to the papers today, "Scottish" Labour are seriously thinking about recruiting "Unionist" Billy Connolly to fight against the upcoming Scottish Independence Referendum when it comes around?
:ranting: :chopping: :tosser: :deadhorse:

What arrogant bastards. :ranter: I bet the majority of the "Scottish" Labour high heid yins, including Connolly himself, would not fight against a referendum uniting Ireland. :irony:
These F@@ckers need shooting. A jumped up pile of dog shite I have, ever encountered. What gives these two faced hypocritical Motherf@@ckers the right to do this to our country? When we are independent, let's teach our Nation's Schoolchildren all about these money pinching, two faced traitorous C@@nt. The "Big Yin", verses "Wee Eck"? I know who my money's on to win this fight of a lifetime? 12 rounds to 0, "Big Alex".  :score10:

Stephen. :saltire:

Connolly's a busted flush, he hasn't grown old in dignity like his near namesake Connery.

Not sure about that, plenty have done it before.

Couldn't we throw Lotto tickets at him?

Despite Connolly being one of the most popular comedians in the UK, the Lotto adverts he was in were voted the most irritating advert on TV. I wonder if he would be cracking jokes and being a clown or if he would be serious??

Yes, Laird's on the ball... as usual.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/2624343.stm

I remember it well. It was just after he'd regrown his goatie, and dyed in lottery colours.

Quote:
Comic Billy Connolly's television adverts for the revamped Lotto have been voted the most irritating commercial of 2002.
The adverts, in which Connolly sports a purple beard and uses the catchphrase "Don't live a little, live a Lotto", was intended to stir up enthusiasm for the game when its name was changed from the National Lottery.

Seems the Lottery's contract with him lost a lotto...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/2837 ... Lotto.html

Quote:
Billy Connolly, the Glaswegian comic, has been dropped as the face of Lotto, the struggling National Lottery game. In his place, a new £20m Lotto advertising campaign will show drop-in centres and museums that have benefited from lottery funding.

Camelot, the National Lottery operator, has turned its back on celebrity endorsements and is hoping to reverse a five year sales slump by promoting the good causes it supports.

"Camelot was probably the wrong image for Billy and he was probably the wrong image for them," one adviser to Camelot said yesterday.

Connolly probably concurs. In November, first-half figures showed Lotto sales declining at an annual rate of 5.2 per cent. There is little prospect of improvement in the second half.

As recently as October a Camelot spokesman said that the National Lottery would be sticking with Connolly for a further six months. However, the new campaign will hit TV screens in about three weeks, which is three months before Connolly's contract is up.
