The unionists are claiming it was anything from 2500 to 5000 which is utter nonsense. It was around 10000. They also seem to be keen to compare it to marches for Catalan independence which is a separate country with its own history. They are totally running scared.

There are similarities between Scotland and Catalonia, however, there are major differences. There's Catalonia (official), but there's also the Paisos Catalans, which include a small bit of French Catalonia, Valencia, the Balaerics and one or two other areas.

Our two main issues are Berwick (which is small), and the Northern Isles, which the Unionists are trying to make capital out of.

To be fair, even they are pretty small compared to the Catalan problem. Spare a thought for the Basques too, split between France and Spain.
