Comets used to be thought of as portents of change. There is one at the start of the Bayeux Tapestry. So, what do the following say about the future of the United Kingdom:

They used to think they were omens, but as long as it's our omen! (And as long as it doesn't hit us)

"What does these comets mean for the United Kingdom?" Well Ison broke apart, so I hope that is a good omen for the future of the UK? It's coming apart at the seams. Like Icarus, ISON went too close for comfort. Like Icarus, I hope BITTER TOGETHER flies to close to the light of truth, and the heat of hope, and melts and tumbles to their oblivion.

Stephen.
