The Basque film Gazta Zati Bat (a piece of cheese) is having its Scottish premiere at the Inverness Film Festival on Saturday November 10th at 8pm.

The Basque debate for independence has been ongoing since the 19th century and the Basque conflict has resulted in the death of more than 1,000 people. This documentary presents the conflict in a new and innovative way, focusing on the people of a small Basque village, which is famous worldwide for its cheese.
In 2009 their adventure brought them to Inverness where they performed at the Inverness Highland Games and became witness to the historic events taking place as Scotland prepares for its Independence Referendum. they were also in Edinburgh where they performed some sports and dances at the Meadows and throughout the city.
A Piece of Cheese premiered at the 10th Amnesty International Human Rights Festival held in Donostia-San Sebastian in April. This UK Premiere is a gift to the people of Inverness for the staging of Highland Games in Ordizia and Pamplona in 2010. Jon Maia is a new director.
